WEDNESDAY, July 6, 2019 (AP) Elvis singer Elvis Presley is expected to sell off hundreds of thousands of vintage bottles, clothes and other items in a move designed to highlight the value of vintage products.
The Los Angeles Times reported on Friday that the singer is expected in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, where he will auction off the bottles, jewelry and other personal items.
The Times said he would also auction off a collection of vintage dresses and shoes.
The items range from $1,500 to $25,000.
The Times reported that the collection will be sold by the Presley Estate, which owns the band and is headed by his longtime personal assistant, Betty Ann Woodard.
The sale, which is expected Friday, is expected as Presley prepares for the July 26 coronavirus pandemic.
The Associated Press first reported the sale on Thursday.
The singer is a longtime supporter of the National Institutes of Health and the Alzheimer’s Association, which has been trying to raise money for research into the disease.
He has also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry by donating thousands of dollars to help fund the arts.
